Crash!

Crash!

That is the last of the trees out front. One in the back to take out and it’s done. We will plant a couple new trees out front this fall.
Now here is a little something I want to show you. A quilt top I did many years ago and never did anything with. It is not the most perfect job but it is colorful.

It is made with about 50 cents worth of fabric! I got 2 BIG bags of scraps from hancock fabric for 50 cents a piece and made a lot of items including this one. So I figured since our bedspread is about shot and we need a new one, why not finish up this one instead of buying one! So that is the plan. anyway, enjoy the rest of the week. God bless you all.

Tina came over Saturday to do laundry and help decorate the tree. It also seemed to be a good day to be silly as you will see. Here we have the invisible tree man.

Next we have reindeer Tina. I think our reindeer was a bit sleepy.

And this little reindeer seems most displeased with me. Wonder why? LOL!

And look at this surprise my sweet hubby hit me with. A big box full of yarn. He knew I was nearly out of yarn and I so appreciate it.

These are the pillowcases Jack made for Tina. He has another pair that have praying hands on them.

Tina is doing great in her place. It is a very nice apartment and the staff are wonderful. Tina is a very neat housekeeper as well. We are slowly helping her learn to cook simple items too. Jack showed her how to make fresh ice tea. So there is some laughter for you and I hope happy feelings. Until next time, God bless.

Our week

Isn’t this adorable? I won it from my sweet friend Angela. I have it sitting here by my computer so i can enjoy it while I am in here. I need to find my tealight candles so I can REALLY enjoy it!
Someone asked what we do with all the things we cross stitch. Well, we do give away quite a bit of it but that still leaves a lot. Some have been made into small pillows and are in a basket and more will be done. Some have been framed, some made into larger pillows. But with nearly 30 years of cross stitch things for me and nearly 20 years for Jack, we would never have room to finish and display all of it. So a lot of it is stored safely so that we can look at and enjoy it. Sometimes someone comes along that a project is perfect for and it will get finished up and rehomed. So I hope that answers your question.
I wanted to share pictures of a couple of my mom’s aprons that she wore. I always remember her in the kitchen wearing one of her many aprons. These are the only two that still survive. Mom passed away in 1969 when I was nine so these are fairly old. You can’t tell it by the picture but they are so TINY! Mom was fairly tall and very slender. I still have some of her clothing and it looks like kids clothing it is so small. Now how did I end up so short and chubby with two tall parents? Go figure! LOL!

I am getting ready to redo my Christmas wreath. I crocheted 6 different snowflakes to go on it. I will put different Christmas type floral picks on it too and one of my crochet hearts.
Then I will cross stitch this angel and she will be in the center of the wreath. Sorry the pic is kinda fuzzy. I have a couple more elements in mind too and will make a bow most likely with my bow-dab-ra. Still in the planning stages and I doubt I will have the angel done for this years Christmas but we will see!
So that is what I have been up to this week! We had a wild night with the weather last night. Lots of thunderstorms and some tornados around the area. Pray for the people here that lost homes or had property damage. As far as I know there were no injuries here in our neck of the woods. See you soon and have a blessed weekend!

Meet my snowmen!

These are plastic canvas snowmen I did last year. I love snowmen!!!!! They were fairly easy to do and used floss and 14 count plastic canvas. We hang them on our little tree each year.

My afghans

I wanted to share a picture of my afghans. I have been crocheting since my aunt taught me when I was around 12 years old. The pink and lavender afghan is Katie-bug’s. It is called a nine patch. The other is called streaks of lightning. They are based on quilt patterns. This is how I quilt. I am working on a rail fence and log cabin pattern right now. Those are the next ones I want to crochet. I also have in the works an afghan called Double Diagonal that is bassed on a quilt pattern as well. i did not design that pattern. Anyway, thanks for looking.
