Some updates!

Jack is taking a break from all the outlining on his kitty. He is working on a couple doilies and a dresser scarf. Aren’t the colors vibrant?

Here is the angel. I am busy, busy on her wings. Since I took this picture, I have finished the white of her wings and on now to the 2 gray colors. Then onto ribbons and the rest of the moon.
002
That’s it then for this post. I am really tired from only 3 or so hours sleep so my wittiness is shot! LOl! God bless and huggles.

In between picking away at the kitchen floor, Jack and I have been managing to get some cross stitch done. Jack is now finished with the cross stitch on his kitty and is now outlining away. I love the eyes on this guy by the way.

Here is my angel project. I am still not working on The Rainbow Bridge. I just haven’t bothered to get the missing thread yet. Lazy, I know but I really am having fun on this one and so no rush. I am working on her wings now and need to finish the ribbon at the top that I had to tear out.
002
So that is it for us. We have been enjoying some really nice weather for August and didn’t even need a/c today. So God bless until next time everyone.

Blessed Sunday all!

Jack is nearly done with the cross stitch on his kitty then it is on to the backstitching. Is there anyone out there who actually likes a mile of backstitching? Not me or Jack.

Finally!!!!! I finished my wrap! It has been more off working on it than on since April. I mean with cross stitching and home repairs it has taken the backseat a lot. At least I will have it for the chilly fall mornings sitting out with the Bugger.
006
And speaking of the Bugger, isn’t this a cute picture? She is snuggling with a teddy bear she found abandoned in a ditch on one of our walks. She promptly picked it up and brought him home. How could I take it away from her? So after a bath he looks good as new and she loves him!

Well the chunk of moon that gave me such fits and seemed to take forever is done! Happy dance!!! I am now working on the ribbons above her head and the little bit of moon up there.

Jack’s kitty progress. Despite another painful flair up in a foot, he has managed to feel like sewing quite a bit. I can hardly wait for him to finish it!
005
Okay, I am itching to do another Lavender and Lace angel and this is the one I would like to do. It is “The angel of Autumn” I just need to work out what colors I can use blended to replace the two specialty threads called for. That stuff is to expensive for me to want to buy.

And here are some tips for living with a smaller bathroom.  Jack and I feel it is the perfect size but if you are not careful you can overcrowd a bathroom of this size and it feels a lot smaller.  We keep our hamper for the dirty terry in the linen closet just across the hall for one thing.  Toilet paper, washclothes and handtowels are kept here above the toilet next to the sink.
005

Instead of a large towel bar which would make the room look smaller and jut out into the room,  I do this.  I have two shower curtain rods.  One for the curtain and one for a couple bath towels and my decorative curtains.  It is nice to have the towels right there when done with the shower and they are not at all in the way.

First let me apologize for the way the wall looks  in the background.  The tiles were so poorly attached to the wall that it is obvious when they were doing some repairs behind the toilet they became loose.  Well when we moved in the first time I went to clean them they started falling off!  We plan to replace the tile with bead board anyway.  So anyway I found this metal basket on sale and I keep those things you need at the sink in it.  It keeps that area from being overwhelmed and it is quite handy on top of the toilet.  Some of this will go into the medicine cabinet as soon as we own a medicine cabinet to put up there.  LOL!  All in good time.  One last tip that may sound funny at first.  I bring my cleaning cloth and keep an inexpensive shampoo in the shower  When I finish showering and before turning off the water, I completely wipe down the whole thing with the shampoo and cloth.  Keeps it nice in between a good scrubbing.  I also wipe down the sink area and then the floor lastly.  Now you will really think I have lost it.  Never mind that I never had it!  We have a fiberglass tub surround and I keep a coat of paste car wax on it.  Not the tub mind you for safety reasons, only the surround on the wall.  It keeps it looking nice and stops the soap scum from being a huge issue.  I even keep my toaster waxed!  Since it is next to the sink and the area where I mix up things, it can get really dirty and the wax makes it look good and clean up easy.

So there ya go.  Hope you enjoyed our little visit.  god bless and keep you until next time.

I finally feel like I am getting somewhere on this chunk of the moon. I did have a nice long visit from the frog though. But I soon sent him packing. The areas next to the halo missing floss will have beads and metallic floss. I still haven’t gotten the missing thread so I can work on Rainbow Bridge but I will soon. I am kinda on a role with this anyway and determined to finish this area!

Jack has been up to doing some cross stitch on his project. I really do think it will be very pretty when done. We searched all over Wichita when we were living there to find this for him as it had been discontinued.
005
Now this is the best picture! Jack and I shop at Wal Mart for groceries even though we have a couple stores here in town it is worth the short drive to save money but we do buy some items here. In the summer time we fold down the backs of the car seats and perishables are placed up close to stay cool. Well Miss Katie must inspect each and every bag to see what is in them. Jack got lucky and caught this darling picture of her. What a mess she is and we do so love her.

Well, quite by accident Jack discovered there is hardwood under the kitchen linoleum. We hope it is in good shape or at least repairable. Not only would we love hardwood in the kitchen, it would save money as one less room to tile!

I brought out my two most favorite cook books and found a different muffin recipe in the Church supper one to make. Then I tossed in my few remaining frozen berries and yum!
001
Sewed some on The rainbow bridge until missing floss and no extras stopped me.
004
Got more done on the angel. I needed a landmark for working more of the beige on the moon so I am working on her head. Can you believe her hair takes five different colors and the wreath around her head takes nine? That is about to drive me crazy. My poor pea brain gets confused with all the jumping around! LOL!
003
For the one who asked, yes it is cross stitch but the 18 count dark fabric does seem to make it look more like needlepoint. So there ya have all the news that is fit to print. God bless and keep you until our next visit.

I’m back!

Jack has not worked to much on his kitty but some. So here it is.
006
I am back on The rainbow bridge. I did the leaves and twigs around the word rainbow and now I am doing the word bridge. Too be honest I am ready to move onto the next page. I am getting tired of the same colors. I want to do critters and other colors please.
007
Here is where I stand on Blue Moon Angel. I had to work on the halo, hand and all to help me with the placement of the stitching and color on the moon.
009
Now does anyone need a smile? I sure do. Here is Jack and Katie when I was coming to bed the other night. Who could resist taking a picture? Not me.
002
My birthday today this year has been bittersweet. You see about 2 weeks ago my 84 year old Great Uncle was diagnosed with liver and pancreas cancer. He made his journey to Heaven yesterday afternoon. I give glory to God for hearing my prayers that my Great Uncle not suffer and He listened. Yes, we all miss him but what a wonderful time he is having in heaven today. Would you please pray for my Great Aunt and her two boys and their families. My cousin Brent who is our pastor, is the son of my Great uncle. Thanks and God bless you all.
