Well, quite by accident Jack discovered there is hardwood under the kitchen linoleum. We hope it is in good shape or at least repairable. Not only would we love hardwood in the kitchen, it would save money as one less room to tile!

I brought out my two most favorite cook books and found a different muffin recipe in the Church supper one to make. Then I tossed in my few remaining frozen berries and yum!

Sewed some on The rainbow bridge until missing floss and no extras stopped me.

Got more done on the angel. I needed a landmark for working more of the beige on the moon so I am working on her head. Can you believe her hair takes five different colors and the wreath around her head takes nine? That is about to drive me crazy. My poor pea brain gets confused with all the jumping around! LOL!

For the one who asked, yes it is cross stitch but the 18 count dark fabric does seem to make it look more like needlepoint. So there ya have all the news that is fit to print. God bless and keep you until our next visit.

I’m back!

Jack has not worked to much on his kitty but some. So here it is.

I am back on The rainbow bridge. I did the leaves and twigs around the word rainbow and now I am doing the word bridge. Too be honest I am ready to move onto the next page. I am getting tired of the same colors. I want to do critters and other colors please.

Here is where I stand on Blue Moon Angel. I had to work on the halo, hand and all to help me with the placement of the stitching and color on the moon.

Now does anyone need a smile? I sure do. Here is Jack and Katie when I was coming to bed the other night. Who could resist taking a picture? Not me.

My birthday today this year has been bittersweet. You see about 2 weeks ago my 84 year old Great Uncle was diagnosed with liver and pancreas cancer. He made his journey to Heaven yesterday afternoon. I give glory to God for hearing my prayers that my Great Uncle not suffer and He listened. Yes, we all miss him but what a wonderful time he is having in heaven today. Would you please pray for my Great Aunt and her two boys and their families. My cousin Brent who is our pastor, is the son of my Great uncle. Thanks and God bless you all.

Well, I had planned to make this post over last weekend but life intervened. First I took a fall Saturday morning as I was sitting down to pot my last flower. I hit the back of my upper arm on the leg of the swing and the swing itself hit the back of my head. It smarted and I was sore for a few days and still have a small bruise. And I do hope none of you suffer from vertigo as it isn’t a bit of fun. Not only are you mildly to moderately dizzy, it can cause flu like symptoms which it did to me this past weekend. Oh what fun! But praise God I am so much better now so on we go!
Here is a pic I sneaked of Jack as he was working in his shop. He got the small hurricane lamp repaired and it is back in our bedroom but the other is a work in progress.

Now for the question. I would so like the input of my friends on here as to what project I should start when I finish the one. Should I do this one?
003
Or maybe this one?

Or this one?

I value your opinions so sing out! Now God bless and I will see and talk to you soon.

Good ole Missouri weather! If you don’t like it, wait a day or two and it will change! I loved the 73 degree temps and of course I was working outside barefoot!

Barefoot weather on Thursday!

We had snow all day Saturday and it was cold, cold, cold! Katie has her head buried and shorty is zoominf for the house!

Snowball fight weather on Saturday!

We were surprised at just how bad the wood was inside the old maple. It crumbles easily in your hands.

We are home and had a great time! It was just what we needed.  We visited our friends at their pharmacy.  Here is George the owner laughing at Katie.  She was eating a doggie cookie with her butt in the air.

Here is George and Sue’s daughter Jennifer. She and Katie are best buddies.

A little quality time with Sue. Feels good!  Katie always barks and stands on her hind legs looking out the drive up window everytime someone arrives.  She acts like she owns the place.  The owners doxies used to be there all the time until an inspector forced them to leave them at home.  What a rip off!

This is our very nice room! It was wonderful and so was everyone who worked there including the owners who are good Christian people. You are checked on a couple times a day to make sure you have all you need and all is well. They have plenty of time to talk to you and lots of smiles as well. It was more like staying with family. Katie even got a special bag filled with goodies and they have a nice grassy area to walk your dog with poo bags provided!

Now for some of the fabrics Jack has been buying me and some patterns to. I am down to 4 outfits and of those four two are in tough shape, one is not the proper size and the other is just getting very old and worn out.  These Jack bought for me at Ehlers here in town.

These are reproductions of 1800’s fabrics I bought at a place called FM Store in Springfield. I really enjoy all the fabrics. The dark blue with wheat is a reproduction of a fabric produced in 1860. The other was produced from 1830 to 1870.

The blue calico I got here at Ehlers and the other I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

These are the patterns I bought. I got them from Kathy at Common Sense Patterns Nice looking pull on style dresses easy enough for me to do. She prints them on really good, heavy paper as well and the instructions are easy to understand. I have been sewing for a number of years but I am self taught and never learned to do complicated patterns. I prefer simple styling anyway and easy to put together.

Lastly, here are Craig and Becky Chandler and their dogs. They not only own the place they work their too. Unlike many motel owners and they are such warm, loving and caring people. They are such a joy to talk with as well and the dogs are adorable. Katie and Buddy were flirting. Funny!

So that is most of our trip.  I hope you enjoyed everything.  God bless!

Having a get away

While I have not read any of the comments from my last post, I am sure there were prayers and loving thoughts.  Thanks a million!  Jack is doing much better.  No crutches now, no cane but he is still having some pain with it.

We are going away for a few days.  I have an appointment Monday for a build up on my new boots so after the stress of this last month we decided it was a great time for a little escape.

I have not mentioned it but we had quite the problem with Tina.  She is still upset enough that we have not talked to her since just before Christmas.    All because we tried to explain to her she would have to do her laundry at the complex where she lives.  They want her to be more independent and learn to do for herself.  Now we love Tina with all our hearts but I have to say that she would rather someone do it all for her.  And Jack and I will not be around forever so she needs to learn to depend more on herself.  Anyway it has been a lot of stress because she lied to staff  and caused a lot of trouble which took several days to straighten out.  The lieing causes much concern because she has told some really bad ones on others before that could get a person arrested.  I never thought she would lie about us with the relationship we have.  Just goes to show.  Anyway we need to think out where we go from here.  And some down time will be nice.

I promise a good post when we return Tuesday or Wednesday.  Know you are all in my heart and my prayers.  God bless.

MIA for a bit

I am not going to be doing any posts for a few days.  I am afraid I won’t be able to read any of your blogs either.  Jack is having a very bad flair up in his knee and is on crutches.  By the time end of day is here, I am too tired to read blogs or post.  I only hope this flair up passes quickly as it is so painful for him.  This is his second day with it.  So until I can get back here, God bless all.
