So what do you think of this shade of green? It is the color we are using in the living room and it nearly matches the green in our braided rug. I think it is calming and so much better than the dirty white walls under it!

I want to share this with you. It is not a piece I made but I do really love it and it has happy memories. See it was given to me by a dear lady living at the nursing home where I cleaned a number of years ago. She had had it for years but was cleaning out items and wanted me to have it. I cleared it with the boss as gifts from residents are generally a no no. The lady who gave it to me is long gone but i can still see her in my mind’s eye.

Here is Jack’s kitty. He sure is getting pretty and I can hardly wait to see it done.

And here is the tiny bit I got done on my prayer. I am almost done with the secret project and should be able to show it to you soon. I am on the last page of the chart so hooray!

We are home and had a great time! It was just what we needed.  We visited our friends at their pharmacy.  Here is George the owner laughing at Katie.  She was eating a doggie cookie with her butt in the air.

Here is George and Sue’s daughter Jennifer. She and Katie are best buddies.

A little quality time with Sue. Feels good!  Katie always barks and stands on her hind legs looking out the drive up window everytime someone arrives.  She acts like she owns the place.  The owners doxies used to be there all the time until an inspector forced them to leave them at home.  What a rip off!

This is our very nice room! It was wonderful and so was everyone who worked there including the owners who are good Christian people. You are checked on a couple times a day to make sure you have all you need and all is well. They have plenty of time to talk to you and lots of smiles as well. It was more like staying with family. Katie even got a special bag filled with goodies and they have a nice grassy area to walk your dog with poo bags provided!

Now for some of the fabrics Jack has been buying me and some patterns to. I am down to 4 outfits and of those four two are in tough shape, one is not the proper size and the other is just getting very old and worn out.  These Jack bought for me at Ehlers here in town.

These are reproductions of 1800’s fabrics I bought at a place called FM Store in Springfield. I really enjoy all the fabrics. The dark blue with wheat is a reproduction of a fabric produced in 1860. The other was produced from 1830 to 1870.

The blue calico I got here at Ehlers and the other I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

These are the patterns I bought. I got them from Kathy at Common Sense Patterns Nice looking pull on style dresses easy enough for me to do. She prints them on really good, heavy paper as well and the instructions are easy to understand. I have been sewing for a number of years but I am self taught and never learned to do complicated patterns. I prefer simple styling anyway and easy to put together.

Lastly, here are Craig and Becky Chandler and their dogs. They not only own the place they work their too. Unlike many motel owners and they are such warm, loving and caring people. They are such a joy to talk with as well and the dogs are adorable. Katie and Buddy were flirting. Funny!

So that is most of our trip.  I hope you enjoyed everything.  God bless!

Come on in and visit a spell! We will have a slice of red velvet cake and some tea or milk with it.
What do you think of my box? it is a computer paper box covered in contact paper that I did in the 1980’s. I use it to keep projects I am working on safe and sound in between rotations.
The new Schrock’s catalog came today. We can look at crafting supplies and see what we need. Everything is wholesale and shipping is super cheap.
Okay, now that we have had a little visit, enjoy the fall colors around town!

Thanks for stopping by! Please do come again. We will be waiting with hugs and treats.

This is a friends dog and her boy. Gypsy the doxie is a rescue who was horribly treated and is not healthy at all. She is paralyzed in her back legs and now her upper spine is flairing up. She is on crate rest and Suz’s boys have been comforting her. Isn’t this the sweetest picture?
Saw this old car when we were out and about awhile back. I love it!
Katie, sleeping under her blankie as usual! That girl is a mess and brings a smile to me every day. You know, with our Katie in my life I wouldn’t be brave enough to take walks once or twice a day like I do.
And finally some stitching for you. I am almost done with this! I bought up enough white and black floss to finish it up. Then i will make it into a pillow. i will share pictures of the fabric I will be using next time I make a stitchy post.
So that is what I have been up too the past few days. god bless and keep you in the coming week. See you soon!

You can see this steeple for miles. It is about 4 or 5 stories tall located in Piqua Kansas (pronounced pick way)
Here is the front of the church. Lovely!
Jack and Steve doing dish duty!
Steve and Katie just loved each other! She couldn’t get enough of him. Don’t you love his houseshoes? Steve’s late wife Mary gave them to him.
A little office work! Nosy Katie is of course in the middle of it all. I think she is the office manager! LOL!
This is in Iola Kansas on the square. It used to be a farm before Iola became a town. I am glad they preserved the home when they built the town! Click on the pic if you want to read the sign.
Here is the house. They were repainting when we stopped by and so it was closed so we couldn’t go in. Next time we will!
The Kansas Flint Hills. Miles and miles of hilly prairie with few homes and no towns for miles! It is really dark out there at night!
The Walnut river in El Dorado Kansas. This town got it’s name from the rich oil fields in the area.

So hope you enjoyed the trip! See you soon!

I want you to meet a very lovely family! This is the Burrell family! Here is Dad having a bit of fun with his daughters
Here is the whole family. Dad Paul and mom Angela and the girls. They have the most awesome website full of recipes, sewing tips, stories, pictures and just tons of other stuff. They also explain their journey to living a plain and simple life. Whether or not you agree with their manner of dress and living, you owe it to your self to visit them at Sheperd’s Hill. You won’t be disappointed. They are a loving Christian family. I haven’t known them long, but I already feel they are friends.
Now I want you to meet a little fella we met this past week. We had to go over to a bigger town west of us to do some banking and other errands. Here was this little guy half asleep, waiting for his family!
Yes, I have been cross stitching. Sorry the photo is blurry but my house is nearly done. I would have taken another, better picture but I am down in my hips and back today so this is as good as it gets! LOL! I just need to do the fence, backstitch and it is on to other areas.
Remember all the progress I was making on my Ruth 1:16 piece? Ha, ha, some progress!!!!! I have to tear out a lot, and I do mean a LOT of my stitching and redo it. I messed up BIG time so it isn’t lining up right. I put it aside for now and will deal with it later! So that is enough for me for today. See you soon!
