Well I have finally started on this. Took a bit to get used to with the length of the aida.
001
This will give you some idea of just how long it is. Finished size is 9.07 inches wide and 35.50 inches long but mine is a bit longer to add names at the bottom. It is a design by Sue Hillis.
002
Have you seen one of these yet? it is a Bissell versus and it is wonderful! It is designed for hard surfaces and low pile area rugs. The funky foot on it is wonderful for corners and table or chair legs. It sure does save on the back pain for me and as a result takes a lot less time. And boy does it get things clean added to the fact I have a hose and edge tool I can use to clean baseboards or such. The best part is the low price. Jack got mine at Target for a little over 50 dollars.

So that is all for me. If you are having heat like we are drink lots of water and be careful outside. Our heat index was 112 today. God bless and see you soon.

Well, I had planned to make this post over last weekend but life intervened. First I took a fall Saturday morning as I was sitting down to pot my last flower. I hit the back of my upper arm on the leg of the swing and the swing itself hit the back of my head. It smarted and I was sore for a few days and still have a small bruise. And I do hope none of you suffer from vertigo as it isn’t a bit of fun. Not only are you mildly to moderately dizzy, it can cause flu like symptoms which it did to me this past weekend. Oh what fun! But praise God I am so much better now so on we go!
Here is a pic I sneaked of Jack as he was working in his shop. He got the small hurricane lamp repaired and it is back in our bedroom but the other is a work in progress.

Now for the question. I would so like the input of my friends on here as to what project I should start when I finish the one. Should I do this one?
003
Or maybe this one?

Or this one?

I value your opinions so sing out! Now God bless and I will see and talk to you soon.

Good day! Well while at Wal Mart a short bit back I found the perfect border for our bedroom! How do you like it? I love it.
002
And here is a surprise we found in the living room. It has sure turned out to be more work than we thought it would. We did have a big wall repair at the arch we knew about. We had wondered what the marks on the wood floor right under where this is was all about. And now we know this is where the heating stove was before they switched to central heat.
0051
Here is the tiny progress on my shawl. Between working on the living room, trying to prepare the flower bed for the morning glories, and my allergies, not a lot is getting done!
0042
I do also have some progress on my prayer. I am getting a lot closer to being done!
0032

So that is it for me ya all.  Be blessed and I will see you soon!

Ready to cut the first tree down!

What a pile of limbs!

What a pile of limbs!

What a mess.

Last tree standing

Last tree standing

Almost there.

Almost there.

Timber!!!!!!!

Timber!!!!!!!

Crash!

Crash!

That is the last of the trees out front. One in the back to take out and it’s done. We will plant a couple new trees out front this fall.
Now here is a little something I want to show you. A quilt top I did many years ago and never did anything with. It is not the most perfect job but it is colorful.
0081
It is made with about 50 cents worth of fabric! I got 2 BIG bags of scraps from hancock fabric for 50 cents a piece and made a lot of items including this one. So I figured since our bedspread is about shot and we need a new one, why not finish up this one instead of buying one! So that is the plan. anyway, enjoy the rest of the week. God bless you all.

I am sure you are very tired of seeing this project! LOl! But i am really close to being done. i fially feel like cross stitching again and I am zooming away.
008
Here is Jack’s kitty project. He has been having sinus troubles so he has not been stitching too much. i do think this is going to be a really nice piece once it is done.
009
How do you like my shelf over the stove? It started life as one of those over the sink shelf but I never liked it like I thought I would. It was not long enough or tall enough and the legs were flimsy so I packed it away. This past week Jack sanded and painted it and we bought some pretty black brackets to mount it. Makes access to my spices so much easier and looks nice to boot!
007
So that is my little visit with you today. may you have a beautiful weekend. tell someone you love them and remember I love you too. God bless!

Hello everyone! Come on in and let’s visit a bit. What do you think of this piece of cross stitch? It is a free chart from my friend Sandra. I printed it out and think I will do it in shades of either burgundy or sage green. Here is a link if you want to download the chart for yourself.    Joyful Expressions.

Now would you like a piece of freshly baked strawberry cake?  Topped with whip topping and more strawberries and a few red sprinkles.

002

After that we can tip toe in and smile at Katie who is sleeping away in the den.  She got a new big comfy bed to sleep on in here and just loves it.  She often gets to really snoring away!

Thanks for coming to visit.  God bless you and have a wonderful week.  See you soon.

Sunday afternoon drive

I have told Jack about a little town of just over 1300 souls called Rich Hill. so named becasue of the rich coal deposits just under the surface. Sadly the area was strip mined and the earth left scarred. The area was a popular swimming spot in the 1970’s when I was a child. So off the 3 of us went. Sadly, the town is declining, most homes are uncared for, abandoned or for sale. Only a few are loved and look nice. The towns business district looks just as bad. Many buildings are gone lost to neglect. A couple weeks ago we had some winday days with one day having winds around 50 to 60 mile an hour. These buildings were so neglected that wind managed to knock one wall down which caused a domino effect taking out 3 buildings.

0031We did find this gorgeous victorian there though.  I can only imagine what it was like when it was new!  So then home we go the back way through Appleton City not far from El Dorado Springs.  Same size as Rich Hill but vastly different.  Well cared for and plenty of community pride.

007We stopped to poke around the old train depot.

004Katie really enjoyed herself!

005I really like this old caboose and you can even look in one of the windows to see inside!  Fun!

011This is the old hospital across from the depot.  I believe it is now a private residence.  It appeared to be so anyway but not sure.  So there was our little trip!  See you tomorrow with a post from Katie.  God bless
